The 1991 Firestone Tournament of Champions is infamous for the bomb threat which significantly delayed the telecast. But what doesn’t seem to be talked about as much is that a few weeks earlier there was an actual bomb at another PBA event that was disposed of by the bomb squad. Chris Schenkel mentions it briefly during the Firestone telecast, but I’ve never been able to find any real information about it. What was going on in 1991 that PBA events were the targets of terrorist threats? And on a related note is there any recording available of the title match of the 1991 Firestone that wasn’t broadcast due to the delay?

Both Wilman’s book and Porter’s book have their high and low points. But which do you think is better?
