I currently have 2 Synology NAS boxes, both loaded with 16tb EXOS ssta drives and they have been running for years and rock solid. I also have a Dell t630 loaded with 15 EXOS SAS drives that has also been running for years and been rock solid.

All of the drives mentioned above were purchased brand new.

I'm looking at expanding by adding a Dell MD1200 and loading it with 24TB EXOS drives but I am on the fence as to buy renewed/refurbished or brand new drives. The data stored on whatever raid array I configure with the MD1200 will be very low I/O.

Are refurbished/renewed drives covered under the same warranty as new?

Anyone had experience with both?

Suggestions? Ideas? Comments?

I want to create a schedule that runs 2x a day and does a backup for the same PC. From my understanding, creating two separate tasks for the same PC will essentially keep two different backup clusters of the same PC which seems like a waste of space. I have version 3.2 of ABB installed and under "backup frequency" I only have hourly or weekly as options when creating a new task or editing an existing task. It feels like I am missing an option but the documentation I found doesn't seem to talk about scheduling tasks in ABB at all. A little help would be great.
