31. First time trying to grow a moustache. Two weeks and a half in. Need advise.

I'm not sure I have the right genes to grow a proper moustache. It looks too thick on the sides and very thin in the middle. What do you guys think? I know patience is a virtue, but I'd like a second opinion.
