AITA: Family Issues over a car

So to put everything into context. A car was brought for me or my brother. Whoever passed our driving test first got said car and the other got the same amount for a different one.

The car that was brought is valued at around 10k but we paid 2.5k as it was from a family friend. So crazy discount on a perfectly fine car.

Well I passed first a couple days ago, but before I did I said my brother can have it as I don’t want to drive a manual. So we agreed he can have it when he passes his test. Which isn’t until December.

I won’t get the money for a car until the end of November so we agreed until he passes I’ll drive said car.

Well my promotion at work required me to get my license and use my car for work until I have been driving for one year for insurance purposes. So now I’m about to start training for my new role which the car is required.

My brother has learners insurance on the car and can drive around with someone in the passengers seat who meets a set of requirements.

So since I need the car for my role, I said I don’t want him driving the car in case something goes wrong or he crashes, since this would leave me unable to work. But my family wouldn’t hear this. All I got from them was, “nothing is going to go wrong with the car” and because I said he could have the car, I can’t do that. But until he passes his test I’ll be driving it every day, maintaining it and fuelling it.

So what I’m trying to get at is AITA for saying my brother can’t drive the car I said he can have on the chance that something goes wrong or he crashes it and puts me out of work and halts my training for my promotion and pay rise?

Just interested to see if maybe I’m wrong or right in the eyes of Reddit. Cheers for taking the time to read and respond.
