I'm a photographer traveling with expensive gears. I'll be in Spain for a project and have some time afterward to do Camino del Norte. I will have to use a luggage transfer service (or storage) since carrying it all is not practical.

I'm worried about having such valuables being transferred. Advice I've seen is don't transfer anything you can't afford to lose. I've completed the French and Portuguese ways and had used transfer services before without any issues, but this time the stakes are much higher.

I have insurance for my gears, but I rather be proactive about protecting my stuffs then relying on insurance payout (since I don't know how they'll handle the situation of me willingly gave my stuffs to someone else to transport.)

Another option is to send it to Santiago beforehand, this should be somewhat securer than transferring it every day?

Advice from someone else with similar dilemma is appreciated.

Thanks!
