The cabs lots at MCO have been consistently empty, despite them adding cars and vans. The cab business is BOOMING because Ubers take rate is so high. Uber drivers are declining at record levels because of low offers, and customers are waiting forever to be picked up, so they are resorting to the cabs. I have watched them add more and more cabs over the years, and the lot gets emptier and emptier during peaks. Now it's been empty for the last few months.
In an attempt to maximize Uber profits, Uber is giving away rids to cabs instead of paying the drivers and taking a little less. Whoever is in charge of the Orlando market is doing a terrible job. Fares on the streets can be downright insulting, and now they are lowering airport fares to drivers and sending the business to the cab companies.
This could be such a great service, but making customers wait 20-40 minutes to get picked up because you want a crazy portion of the trip cost is not only predatory to riders and drivers, but a business killer.
All you do is invent new gimmicks and tricks to try and fool new drivers into bad situations.
The truth is, if they fire all you folks that work to come up with this stuff and simply pay the drivers, they would increase profits and increase customer satisfaction. It is getting so bad, we are ready to take this to the transportation manager. These are MY customers you are making wait, and MY business you are handing to other services.
By the way, autonomous vehicles are taking away your job too, so try becoming a decent human being before karma slaps you in the face.
