Hi all,

My husband and I want to drive from the UK to Asia in a motorhome, going through Turkey, the Caucasus and the Central Asian countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan etc.).

For anyone who’s done this route:

- Is a 4x4 actually necessary, or will a regular 2WD motorhome cope?

- How bad are the roads now, especially in the Stans and around the Pamir?

- Any issues with motorhome size/weight, borders or infrastructure?

We’re not planning super extreme off-road routes and want to buy the right vehicle before committing.
