Your staff are serving on the bar and someone of legal ages come in. They know the bartender. Do you expect the bartender to ask their friend for ID?

I am on the side of no. I manage a high-volume bar and we don't have time to ID people we know are of age. Similarly, if you asked the person for ID earlier and are satisfied they are of age, you don't ID them again later. They can't go back in age.

Example: staff member comes up to the bar after their shift. Asking them for ID is obviously stupid - "Sorry, I know you're 18 because I've entrusted you to serve alcohol for the last 6 hours but now I want to see your ID before I give you alcohol."
