Roland Tembo and Nick Van Owen are named of after Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner and That Son-of-a-bitch Van Owen from the Warren Zevon song.
I've been on a Warren Zevon kick recently and today I found out my favorite song by him, Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner, was the inspiration for David Koepp to name Roland Tembo and his nemesis, Nick Van Owen.
