2026 Legislative Session Budget Update: Nearly $50 Million Secured for Stamford
Hi everyone:
I want to share a summary of the funding secured for Stamford in this year’s budget adjustment. The below was provided to the delegation today by Rep. Corey Paris, Vice Chair of the Appropriations Committee.
In total, Stamford is receiving $49,355,876, including $12,692,378 in new funding above prior projections and allocations.
Stamford Town Funding
Total Town Funding: $39,822,627
Increase Over FY26 Projections: $3,159,129
Breakdown includes:
- Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT): $7,208,574, increase of $106,362 over FY26 projections
- Supplemental Revenue Sharing Grants: $2,246,049 matches FY26 projections
- Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Fund Grant: $625,635, matches FY26 projections
- Town Aid Road: $1,718,440, matches FY26 projections
- Local Capital Improvement Program (LoCIP): $1,223,802, matches FY26 projections
- Municipal Grants-in-Aid: $1,154,179, matches FY26 projections
- Education Cost Sharing (ECS): $22,003,161, matches FY26 projections
- Adult Education: $393,062, increase of $52,067 over FY26 projections
- Special Education and Expansion Development (SEED) Grant: $257,208, increase of $8,182 over FY26 projections
- Supplemental Education Aid: $1,441,637
- Supplemental Mashantucket Pequot and Mohegan Grant: $1,550,880
Other Stamford Funding
Total Other Funding: $9,958,790
New Other Funding: $9,533,249
Additional investments include:
- Fire Training School: $95,541 total, increase of $20,000
- Stamford Downtown Special Services District: $100,000 biennium total, increase of $50,000
- Stamford Public Education Foundation: $600,000 biennium total, Increase of $300,000
- OLAM Public Charter School Planning Grant: $75,000
- Julia Stark Elementary School Construction Grant: $8,608,249
- Youth Services Prevention: $480,000 total
