Constant Shipping Adjustments (Rant)

It’s unbelievably annoying how common my shipping adjustments are. My most recent one was a $56 original label, which turned into an extra $115 in charges after the fact!

As a result I always add an extra inch to each dimension of my box, as well as adding an extra 2 ounces to the weight just to be safe.

This time, it was a $30 “elevated risk” charge for shipping to the Middle East, which you’d think would be paid upfront since they know the destination. As well as a $50 “remote area delivery” charge, which again, they know the address ahead of time.

On top of that, my inputted package info came out to a dimensional weight of 3 pounds. They corrected my box size (to a smaller size than I inputted), which still came out to 3 pounds dimensional weight, yet they make adjustments that end up charging me $45.

Negligible in the grand scheme of things, but a $4 “non-standard pickup” charge? What does that even mean? I have it set to pickup at my front door. I have the driver on camera grabbing the package from my front door in a matter of 30 seconds and being on his way.

I know, I’m just ranting, but does this happen so often to anyone else? I’m already disputing the charges with photographic evidence (which I do take because of how common this is). It’s a shame the extra work I have to put in to ensure this doesn’t happen. The charges don’t make any sense as DHL has all of the required information ahead of time.

▲ 1 r/Mold

Hi,

Here’s a before and after of my the mold above my bathroom shower.

I used distilled white vinegar, a damp microfiber cloth to scrub, then a dry one to dry after.

I can’t tell if the remaining spot is staining, paint removed, or if it needs another pass to get the mold.

What should I do next? Thanks!
