Recently got my 1988 Toyota Celica running again after being out of commission. During this time the battery died and I had to jump it to get it to run. I haven’t had the time to run the car long enough today to get the battery fully charged (still needs to be jumped each time as of now), but my soft top will no longer retract.

Could this be related to the battery not being charged or is there another common issue with ‘88 soft tops motor? It seems it’s trying to draw too much power when I try to open it, as all my lights on my dash get dim when pushing the open button.
