I thought heliamphora was hard to keep

Got this bad boy in march 2025. Has been through moving apartments and has to be contained at all times because my cats will eat it. I was always hesitant to get one because I was unsure it would grow in my care. Haven't even repotted it, how do I separate it.

Floating s. purpurea basket

Making a floating s. purpurea basket for my pond.

Got a floating basket from the local garden center, filled it with 70:20:10 peat, pumice, perlite. The bottom of the basket has a layer of pumice. That combination worked best for me in the past. Tucked some sphagnum moss into the corners of the basket, hopefully it will grow and cover all the soil. There's also a previously presumed dead s. psittacina in the same pot. I don't expect it to survive but for experimenting sake I put it in there as well.

Pond may look rough but the water parameters are decent, just waiting for warm weather to do proper maintenance.

Sarracenia came back to life

When I glanced over my wasted soil and plant material bucket, I couldn't believe what my eyes saw. Some of the sarracenia I previously thought rotten dead because of the winter, proved to be alive and well. Now this is what I call savage.

B̶u̶n̶n̶i̶e̶s̶ Cats eating left over lettuce leaves. Non toxic and hydrating snack for my babies. Make sure to meet their dietary needs with regular cat food, this is just a snack.
