Gummy candy or gemstones? Did you know that in Tunduru, Tanzania, a colorful mixture of different garnet varieties can be found all together in the same riverbed deposits, tumbled and water-worn over millennia? Spessartites, grossular, malaya, etc. A handful of these always brings me joy (NFS)
Check out the hidden world inside this 3.79 ct. Burmese red spinel. Inclusions aren't necessarily the enemy! They can be very beautiful, and they can tell us a lot about the gem (this spinel is NFS)
14.44 ct. unheated Tanzanite cut by me - the trichroism never gets old. The customer has also decided not to heat this one, so it will stay this way! (NFS)
9.31 ct. flawless Tanzanite, and 6.75 ct. (total weight) pair of peridot pears (NFS). These weren't cut for the same job / customer, but I just loved the color and shape combination!
Behold the sorcery of trichroic unheated Tanzanite! :-) It's always interesting to see how the blue, purple, and amber colors of unheated Tanzanite blend together in the finished gem. This 5.34 ct. beauty was left unheated at the request of the customer (NFS).
