Heirloom sapphires
I have 2 oval yellow sapphires from 50s and 1 emerald cut from the 90s (all ceylon). The emerald cut was part of 18k gold ring which was barely worn and the gold was repurposed for something else. One of the oval pendant (clearer stone) was part of a pendant in 22k gold and the setting saw some wear and tear impacting the pendant and was removed from the setting. There is visible inclusion in the 2nd oval sapphire and has not been used in any jewellery - but was shaped for a pendant. All 3 have been not used since the 90s.
Planning to set them and haven't gotten them checked yet. The oval ones were gifted to grand mom by her uncle who had a jewellery store in the 50s. Emerald cut one was bought by grandpa as a gift but barely used when set in ring as grandmom found the stone too big for her hand.
Sharing with the group on ideas on how to repurpose them.

Red to green under uv gemstone
Got at an estate sale of an older lady recently for around 10$ , it's on marked 925 silver and acid test did confirm as well, no maker mark, but compared to garnets that I have that look incredibly similar none of them glow this radiant green under uv light and I can't find anything on it
Cobalt Spinel help
Here are two cobalt spinels that I’m currently looking at. One is 1.43 ct (first 2 in video) and other is 1.41 ct (second 2 in video - tweezers, and left on the paper with two). The former is Guild certified and latter is GFCO. Based on the videos that you see here do you have any thoughts on both? I know videos aren’t perfect, but in terms of quality and what you would trust more than another.
eBay Gem ring seller - am I crazy?!
I’m still on my hunt for an emerald ring and came across this eBay seller. Anyone have experience? The prices seem so low! Am I crazy for considering ?!

Where to buy Cubic Zirconia/Gemstones for Art Project?
Just as a disclaimer, I'm not a Gemstone guy, I'm just looking for help with a one-off project. If this is not the right sub for this, please let me know and I'll take it down.
I'm doing an art project where I'm looking to make a large quantity of different colored 8mm round gemstones individually encased within a Resin sphere. (photos below with a clear CZ stone as example)
As this is not something where the authenticity of the stones is a concern, I was experimenting with some Cubic Zirconia I got off Amazon, and I like the results it got me. The problem I'm running into is that I'm looking for 10 different colors, and I can't find such a variety in the size I need on Amazon.
I did find http://gemsngems.com which has a good variety of colors and from various posts here it seems like they have a good reputation. Are there any other resources I could or should consider? I'm located in the USA.
Is this a good price?
2.5 carats, 8500$ natural no heat diamond. Plan on putting it into a bezel setting for my engagement ring. I’m new to this so any help is appreciated!
Pillow-shaped ruby design set with floral patterns
Not for sale - just personal design and gem aesthetics sharing.
This absolutely stunning ring features a full, bold cushion-cut ruby as the centerpiece. The rich, vibrant raspberry red has excellent saturation, and every precisely polished facet captures the light perfectly, creating a dazzling, lively fire.
The overall design is a gorgeous double-layered floral setting: a circle of pear-shaped side stones surrounds the main stone, while an inner layer is densely set with tiny diamonds, making the whole look like blooming petals that maximize the ring's luxury and brilliance, instantly increasing its visual impact.
All photos are taken directly from the original pieces, with no filters or intentional lighting. Honestly, the real thing is even more stunning than in the pictures - the gem's authentic, rich red hues and dynamic sparkle can't be fully captured by photos.
What do you guys think of this heavy-duty floral design? Do you prefer this gorgeous, eye-catching style or the simple, clean single stone bezel? Feel free to share your thoughts~
Plan to buy this, Thoughts?
I plan to buy this yellow sapphire (5.4ct). It has a GII certificate that shows the stone has no indication of thermal enhancement. Since I’m not an expert and have limited knowledge on gemstones, I’d like to know your opinion on the stone. Thanks!

Anyone like unheated natural cabochon rubies?
I get more and more into cabochons for no obvious reason, maybe because they look so yummy 😝
Tiny blue diamond pair. NF
Tiny blue diamond pair. Only 3.5mm , but they turned into beautiful earrings for my gf. Irradiated of course. I selected them because of the color.
Where can I find big lab grown gemstones?
Picture for reference.
Hello! I'm still trying to find where I can get lab grown gemstone/crystal for faceting. This guys video popped up on my youtube feed, and I'm astonished at the size of this lab grown crystal!
Where can I buy huge crystals like that for faceting? No site I've seen so far has anything even close.
