Shaving Your Face (while preserving your skin barrier)

Backstory:

My skincare journey actually started because of my shaving journey. After shaving with a 5 blade razor for most of my facial hair career, I got into single blade razors for a cheaper and closer shave. I wanted the smoothest looking face I could possibly have, and that made me interested in skincare. Eventually, after messing up my skin barrier using too many exfoliants, and finding this sub, I became invested in focusing on strengthening and protecting my skin barrier.

Question for those of y’all with facial hair:

How often do you shave?

I used to shave once every other day, but I began to notice irritation around my nose and under my lips. Now, I shave one or twice a week.
