I recently upgraded my C1 65” TV to a G2 77”. I put my 65” in my bedroom, but my audio receiver in there is older and supports ARC but not eARC.

When I set the TV to ARC, all I get are garbled sounds. I went into the advanced settings and turned off eARC support, but that didn’t fix it. I can get sound if I change the output to PCM, but that downgrades the sound to stereo.

Is there some way to get surround sound with this setup through HDMI? I can do it through optical, but it seems like it should be backwards compatible with ARC.

I mean...he used to. There was a time when there were shirts and bumper stickers and hats and VHS tapes that he produced himself.
