Pro-Drums + Cymbals score is way lower than it should be

I'm having issues with my end screen scores being way lower than in-game on Pro-drums + cymbals. I thought it was a more universal problem, but looking through the leaderboards I'm not so sure anymore.
I checked a few songs where I have flawless, and I seem to be the lowest score by a wide margin for flawless scores on Expert. I don't think it can be explained by overdrive either. My pathing is usually at least decent, and I can't see how it would be so bad that I'm consistently so much lower than other flawless scores.
I also played with someone else on pro-drums + cymbals, we both activated immediately each time, and I saw them miss more than me, but their score was still quite a bit higher. I'm also typically around 50-60% perfect hits.
I'm playing on PS5, Alesis Nitro e-kit hooked up to a Rolllimitless mini using lefty pro-drums as keyboard firmware, with lefty mode on. If anything, I'm starting to suspect it might have something to do with lefty mode and the hoops you have to jump through to register cymbal + pad combos (this already makes it near impossible to get perfects on those combos, which may also may be related).
Anyone know if there is some way to fix this?
Edit: I just had a hunch and did some testing, I think Overdrive is the problem. I just played a song with no Overdrive and the end screen score matched my in-game score exactly. I don't think the end game screen is counting my Overdrive for some reason.
