Advice for my first Walstad tank

Hello, so I set my first Walstad up recently but I’m concerned my sand cap is too thick. The grain size is .5mm-1mm.

I am noticing some trapped gas which I am releasing with my extra long tweezers (it doesn’t smell, tank is 3 weeks old)

Any advice for a newcomer?

UPDATE

Alright so update for anyone that’s interested:

I fixed the cap thickness.

So, there’s no livestock in here at the moment so even if I f*ck it up I figured I can’t kill anything so what’s the harm?

Anyway, the original sand cap was 1.5inches give or take and after emptying the tank, removing all plants and wood I have managed to reduce the cap all over the tank to 0.8inches give or take.

Thanks to everyone for the advice they gave it was very much appreciated.

Looking for some advice, new to aquariums

So I am planning on getting a 45l tank and adding 12x chilli rasbora's 6x Blue Dream Shrimp and 1x Nerite Snail. also planning to add some Java moss and Anubias Nana.

I've been looking at different tank options but the amount of choices is sligfhtly overwhleming for a newcomer. Can someone recomend me a few tanks that I could potentially go for. Ive read many things about the making sure the pump isn't too powerful.

If its slightly bigger or smaller than 45l that is also ok.

also any other general tips/advice would be very much appreciated!

Purchased a Nitro V15 and looking for some advice

Hello, as the title says I have a V15 on the way and I wanted to ask if anyone has some *must do's* for this machine once it arrives. I have already seen advice like set the battery to charge to 80%, buy a cooling station, but are there any other things you would recommended I do once it arrives? Like a top 5 things to do or something.

Thanks!
