Air purifier to help with grill smoke smell from neighbor?
Long story short, I own a condo. My unit does not have a balcony, but the neighbor's unit does. The balcony is adjacent to my bedroom. Since the balconies in the building have sprinkler systems, grilling is permitted on the balconies. I think you know where I'm going with this...
Whenever they grill, my unit fills up with the smell of smoke and lighter fluid. It goes away after they're done. They do use a fan to direct the smoke away from my place. From what I understand, an air purifier needs a carbon filter for odors, but I've also read that this has varying degrees of success. I am thinking about getting a Winix 5510 to turn on when they grill. So, this isn't a full time air purifying process. Though, if I notice a significant difference, perhaps it could be. Would this help? It's not making my clothes or anything smell after the fact. It's just happening as they grill. It just kind of lingers. If not, any other suggestions?
As for budget, I have $250 of Amazon gift cards from work, so this is what I want to spend it on.
I'm in the U.S. and my room is 144 sq. ft. with 9.5 foot ceilings. Thanks.
