Moving to SBS Studentbostäder (Campus Star Spånga) in August - reviews and help!
Hi everyone!
I’m an international student moving to Stockholm to study at KTH for a year, starting this August. I’ve just been offered a 28m² studio apartment through SBS (Student Bostad i Norden) in Spånga.
I’ve seen mixed reviews on Google Maps and I’m feeling a bit uncertain. My current plan is to stay there for the first 3 or 4 months and then look for something else once I’m more familiar with the city and have accumulated more queue points (e.g., SSSB or the municipal queue).
Before I sign the contract, I’d love to get some honest feedback:
- Value for Money: The rent is 8,500 SEK/month (all expenses included). For a 28m² studio in Spånga, does this seem like a fair price for student housing in the current market?
- Privacy & Management: I’ve read concerning comments claiming that management/staff sometimes enter apartments without much notice. Has this actually happened to anyone here?
- The Commute: How is the commute from Spånga to KTH and central Stockhom? I know the pendeltåg is the main option, but is it reliable enough for a daily commute?
- Moving Logistics: Since I might move after a few months, I’m planning to buy some basic furniture (mattress, bed frame, etc.). How easy is it to move these items to a new place later? I’ve heard of the app TipTapp. Is it reliable/affordable for small moves like this, or would you recommend another way?
Any insights, tips, or "red flags" would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
