Is there a smarter way to discover new stores or is it just trial and error?

I am having trouble finding the new stores to shop at. I shop at the same 4 or 5 brand that I love, and really don't go beyond that circle unless a friend recommends it and even then that is far and few at times.

I was wondering if people had any tools to help with this.

What I actually want is something that takes what I already shop and tells me where to go next. Like if you know someone buys from Wax London and Buck Mason consistently — you already know a lot about their taste. That should be enough to point them somewhere useful.

Does anyone have a method that actually works or is it just wandering around until you stumble on something? Open to any suggestions — apps, newsletters, communities, whatever.

How do you actually find new stores when you've already figured out your taste?

Anyone else feel like they've maxed out their usual spots and have no idea where to go next?

I shop at maybe 3-4 brands pretty religiously, I really like them, I know my taste, I know what fits me, but whenever I try to find something new I end up either going back to the same places or wasting time in stores that are completely wrong for me.

Like I'll walk into somewhere and immediately know nothing in there is for me, but I couldn't have told you that before walking in.

Is there a good way people actually use to discover new stores or brands that match what you already like? Not just "follow influencers", like something better to use.
