Review of my Flexispot E7 Plus
After a few weeks with the Flexispot E7 Plus 4-Leg Standing Desk - I’d like to share my thoughts and experience…
Following much deliberation between the E7 Plus and the E7 Flow (for cable management), I ended up opting for the Plus model as I was wanting to prioritise stability. And stable it is. Understandably, there appears to be a lot of concern around standing desks and their stability at both sitting and standing heights. Whilst I don’t have experience of any 2 leg variations, the E7 plus is weirdly more solid and stable than the non-adjustable kitchen table I was using as a desk before.
To address the cable management, I went with the Flexispot CMP051LL, which was easy to mount to the desktop and does the job well. I ordered a few accessories separately to help with the concealment of cables from all angles and positions.
I decided to source my own solid oak wood desktop (150cm x 80cm) to attach to the legs as I wanted a thicker width to make it look more table-like and personally, I think it looks more aesthetic. This did however add additional weight to the desk, which I will add, should be a consideration when assembling the desk as it’s a heavy unit in itself. I have a muscle or two, but having an extra pair of hands to help flip the table once assembled was ‘handy’.
The assembly itself was straightforward. Instructions were included in the manual itself and I paired this with a YouTube video from Flexispot to assist and follow along to.
Now a few points for potential improvement.
Having an integrated cable management system like the E7 Flow has would be great and make this purchase even more of a no-brainer.
The shipping of the desk legs was split into 2, and did confuse me when I only received 2 of the 4 legs. I understand the rationale for this, but making this clearer following purchase could be useful.
The minimum height of the desk. It’s borderline for my partner to sit at the desk ergonomically at 5ft 4. Just a tad more movement and it’s a one-size-fits-most.
Overall, I’m glad made the investment in the E7 Plus, as it has been nothing but reliable for me so far.
