Japanese epub imports show up as blank documents on Kindle Paperwhite
A few days after my new Kindle Paperwhite arrived, I was reading a light novel in Japanese when it threw an error and I haven't been able to load any Japanese books since. Whenever I try to open a Japanese book from my library, it shows as a blank document with no contents or pages. English books work just fine. Has anyone else encountered a similar issue with non-Latin text, and have you been able to fix it?
I live in the US, so for all of my Japanese reading I purchase epub files elsewhere and upload them to my Kindle via the Send-to-Kindle website. I can still use this route just fine for English epubs.
Things I've tried: -Deleting and reuploading all books from my library -Factory reset of device -Converting my .epub file to .azw3 on pc, then uploading via cable -converting my .epub file to a new .epub via caliber on pc, then uploading to kindle
I installed the Kindle phone app, and there I can open and read all my books just fine, which makes me think the issue is on the Paperwhite side of things. Also, if I convert my .epubs to .pdf and then send to Kindle, that works - but it's really not a great solution because of the formatting, so if anyone has any better ideas please let me know.
