Question about fertility six months postpartum
This is probably a very silly question because I know our bodies are all very different, but what is fertility like at six months postpartum?
For context, I struggled with fertility issues and had a laparoscopy in March 2025 to diagnose and clean out endometriosis, which then resulted in me falling pregnant immediately, like the week after.
I am now six months postpartum with our gorgeous daughter. My period is yet to return, I have been mixed feeding (expressing breastmilk and formula) and am in the process of weaning.
My husband and I were intimate last night and forgot to use contraception (stupid, I know). I’m wondering what is fertility like postpartum, keeping in mind my uterus was cleaned out before falling pregnant?
We’d prefer not to have such a small age gap between kids but also mindful that it took so long to fall pregnant with our daughter.
Just thought I’d ask the question and will arrange to get the morning after pill.
