Artist proof?
Picked this up at a thrift store in Colorado. It is a print that appears to be by the artist Gilbert Duran, a San Antonio artist.
It is signed and also has “artist proof” written in the lower right corner. The lower left corner has a stamp that appears to say “Congressional Hispanic Artist Gilbert Duran.”
A reverse image search resulted in finding a full color version of this scene. I can’t find any prints similar to this is any search. The back side has a ribbon affixed for a business called Crafts Etc., which doesn’t seem to exist in San Antonio anymore.
I’m curious why I can’t find any similar prints when I search for it. Duran seemed to be a popular artist. Who should I reach out to for more information?
