Newbie unsure where to start with tournaments

Basically the title. Ive been to the casino and played some, but I've always wanted to try my hand at a tournament.

There's a local card house in my city that runs events every day. Im perfectly fine with paying the fee and it just being gone if I dont win anything.

Should I just show up to a cheap one sometime? Or is there some sort of strategy to jumping in?

People (specifically media reviewers) who overuse the word slop

I honestly really enjoy hearing people review media properties. Be it movies, shows, video games or whatever.

But something thats been grinding my gears lately is the overuse of the word slop. Find different words to use. If you think something is slop, say WHY. Does it look low effort? Does the story not make sense? Is the idea not innovative? Review the media. Thats your job.

But no, everything people dont like is slop now.

Starting to like the team cause my guy got drafted there on MLB the Show

Basically the title. I live in DFW, so the Rangers are my first love but im really liking the Brew Crew since I got MLB the show and my guy got drafted there.

2 questions

  1. Is the mascot going down the slide after home runs actually a thing?

  2. Is there anything I need to know as a Brewers appreciator? I am assuming that we hate the Cubs cause of the Packers/Bears thing
