Following my last post about the aggressive/inconsistent replacement core in my GAN 16, I’ve decided to move on. The shop offered me a 25% discount on a new cube, and I want to make sure I pick something more stable and predictable this time.
I’m currently deciding between these three:
- GAN 12 MagLev: I have the UI version, so I know the feel. I like the "auto-align" and lightness, but is it stable enough compared to newer flagships?
- MoYu WeiLong v11 (20 Magnet Ball Core - 18th Anniv/SE): I’ve heard great things about MoYu’s stability, but I’m worried about the magnet strength. Is the 20-magnet core too aggressive, or is it smoother than the GAN 16?
- GAN v100: I'm genuinely considering this one, but I’m worried that the GAN 12 or the MoYu v11 might just be objectively better performers in terms of speed and tech. Is the v10 a solid daily driver, or will I regret not going for the 12 or v11?
My preference: I hate the "magnetic catching" and the "zero-or-hundred" feel of my current GAN 16 core. I want something smooth, snappy, and reliable.
Which one would you pick as a replacement for a "failed" GAN 16? Thanks!
