Hello, I have ridden a Specialized Sirrus (Sport?) Disc for years and have been thinking about getting a road bike for the nice rides and keeping the Sirrus for winter, rain, locking up outside the pub, etc. I am thinking endurance rather than race geometry. I expect to do about 50 miles per week, maybe more (was doing 30-50/wk over the winter). (Maybe significantly more...who knows, with a faster bike?).

I had been looking at the Strattos S8X, but was seeing comments about how it's really not an endurance bike (but bikesonline lists it as one). Then I stumbled on the C8, which is an endurance bike. Both have Ultegra di2, but the C8 is $700 more. Any recommendations?

Full disclosure: I'm 61 and pretty fit, but really can't "justify" levelling up for Ultegra di2 (or di2 at all, probably, but it seems as good a time as any to play the YOLO card!). Plus, I've never ridden di2, so I have no feel for 105 di2 vs Ultegra di2. I'm not really planning to race, but have been enjoying pushing the Sirrus and getting faster. What I do know is that I would have a much harder time justifying the cost to get Ultegra di2 on a new Specialized or whatever. And I'm a little hesitant to buy a used, older carbon bike, due to potential stress/degradation issues. Plus, from all the comments I've read, it seems like most Polygon owners love them, so I'm increasingly leaning that way.

I'm 179 cm with 81 cm inseam. My Sirrus is a Large and seems just right. The sizing widget recommends Large for either S8X or C8. I've seen comments that say the S8X in Medium might approximate an endurance bike for someone my size.

Thoughts on any of this would be appreciated.
