What are the best monsties to go for for someone who's just beat the story? Just tried to get a soulseer egg and it didn't go well 🤣

Best monstie I've got so far that's somewhat trained up is Nergigante, at the minute I'm just gene hunting to get the platinum trophy but a bit unsure on what monsties to hunt for for my team.

Going for the platinum trophy and just wondering about the book of genes,

How many genes should I have for when I beat the story? Heard some genes get rarer when in post game? Don't know how true that is.

Don't know if I'm close to the end or not, in the snow area but just wondering how many genes should I have or which ones should I go for before beating the story?
