I'm just in the third area atm and i love this guy! i ended up chasing down an S-rank super potent and I just hatched him, but I love all my team and i'm unsure who to get rid of! I can show builds of my current guys, (mind you i'm not looking for the most 'meta' team in the world, just something that'll get me through the game!) if that'll help come to a decision, im thinking nargacuga? 🤔

Hello everyone, I'm Miyata the composer.

In this game, we recorded choral performances for tracks such as “Bonding Winds” and the final boss battle theme!

The video shows one of our recording sessions with The Philharmonic Chorus of Tokyo.

The ensemble consisted of 6 sopranos, 6 altos, 6 tenors, and 6 basses. The large-scale chorus brings out the full intensity and emotion of the music!

Hi hunters!

I'm Jarvis Lee. I made a companion app for MHST2 a few years ago, and I honestly didn't expect it to be used for this long.

But people kept sending me feedback, bug reports, translation fixes, and sometimes just very kind messages asking whether I would make one again if there was another Stories game. So when MHST3 came out, I felt I should give it another try.

If you used the MHST2 app before, some parts may feel familiar, but MHST3 changed a lot in both gameplay and data structure. So I ended up having to rebuild most of it from scratch, rather than just carrying stuff over. The maps, monster pages, weapons/armors, gene tools, quest info and other sections were all made for this game.

The new app is called GameCat: MHST3. It is a fan project, not an official app, but I tried to make it useful as a real companion while playing rather than just a list of tables.

For MHST3, I ended up putting in all the things I personally kept alt-tabbing to look up: maps with gathering points, treasure chests, hidden Poogies, monster traces, monster weaknesses and part break info, a gene simulator with bingo counts and stats, and a few other tools I thought would actually help while playing.

The monster behavior page is the part I spent a lot of time on. I wanted it to be useful during an actual fight, not only as a database page. So it tries to show things like morph changes, turn conditions, part break effects, and attack type hints in a more readable way.

The map part was also a big one. My goal was that when you open a map, you can see the important points in that area at a glance and feel reasonably sure you are not missing something useful.

A lot of the data is pulled directly from the game files, but some things I had to figure out myself, so there are probably mistakes. If something looks off or weird, please tell me, I’ll fix it as fast as I can.

Oh, and one quick note: most of the app is free. A few of the deeper tools are behind a simple one-time purchase -- nothing recurring, no nonsense. Gotta feed the Palicoes somehow ;)

For Android, I chose to release the APK on GitHub so I can publish fixes and updates more quickly, and also keep the release process simple with fewer extra complications. You can find it here: https://github.com/ooizumi/mhwotomo/releases/tag/v1.0.8-mhs3-official

I know sideloading an APK isn’t nothing, so I kept the Android build really bare-bones: no unnecessary permissions, no extra data collection, just the app.

This build is more centred around the canynes high innate wyversoul and stamina recovery stats, being used for pure dps vs a supportive build that’s more commonly seen here.

Buffs:

Blade rush is the buffing move of choice as it buffs dragon damage and wyversoul damage, I prefer it over pump up as the dragon damage buff is percent based and harder to apply by other means, a supporting hunting horn can still provide that regular damage attack buff.

Attacks:

Pickaxe beak is a cheap, spam-able ability that inflict wyvernsoul down and has good wyvernsoul damage in it of itself, the go to move to use when saving energy for larger attacks.

Dragon eater + as it’s the only dragon power move and provides some sustainability in the build. Could honestly be swapped out for a technical dragon move if that’s what you prefer, only downside is loosing the power bingo.

Egg skill: Dragon Feller is the main damage dealing ability, needing no introduction. Can absolutely shred monsters, and has a solid amount of wyvernfell as well.

Passives:

Critical eye XL is the most replaceable skill here, canynes just have a really good innate crit chance so it was easy to throw this on. Crits do fat damage, and it helps with the bingos for this build.

Stamina surge XL. You may be wondering why this is even needed when canynes already have such a good stamina recovery stat, but it’s to offset the next passive skill.

All out XL. The reason why I chose canyne for this and not the other dragon options in the game. This powers up skills by a large margin with the tradeoff of a higher stamina cost, which the canyne has no trouble dealing with.

Dragon attack boost XL. Boost dragon attack, more damage, simple as. Gets a bingo bonus for power if dragon eater is on the same build.

Dragon buster XL. Even more wyverfell, will be knocking monsters down with no problem.

Elder dominance can fit into this build if you replace critical eye XL, only loosing out on the speed bingo boost but gives you a debuffing option if you don’t have a designated monstie. Would discourage dancer, as I believe the dragon bingo boost is actually better than the damage boost provided by it at full hp, speed boost is irrelevant as canynes are fast as hell.

Environmental Egg Skill:

Really up to you, nothing is required here for the build to work.

Resonance+, more kinship at the start of battle so you can get an easier ride.

Hardiness+, some more stamina recovery, mainly have this here as it’s an awakened skill, can be replaced by battle thirst or unscathed.

High moral is just here to extend buff duration, replace with anything if your choosing.

Three stars in stamina recovery and attack, really just buffing its most important stats. Some more bulk with 3 star defence or HP also isn’t a bad option, but the stamina recovery is a non negotiable.

It makes so many monsties like this just unusable/ redundant on the team and its sad
