Hello! My wife (32f) and I (34m) are in Goodyear Arizona looking for 3-5 more players to start a new homebrew 5e campaign on Saturdays. I'm a forever DM by preference that has run three campaigns so far that lasted multiple years each. I just moved to AZ and I’m looking to establish a new group.
We will be hosting at our house. Our desired cadence is weekly (weekend, either Sat or Sun). We have a billiards table that has a dining top to double as a gaming table. It’s pretty massive, so there’s a lot of space for minis and terrain alongside papers / tablets. We have two dogs that are friendly (warning for those with allergies). Sessions apprx 6h long. Session start time is flexible, preference for late morning to early afternoon.
I am looking for players that are willing to speak in character during social interaction. I speak in character as the NPC’s you interact with. You don’t need a “voice” for your character. I don’t have a broad vocal range, but I try to make sure you can differentiate between when I’m speaking as an NPC and when I’m speaking as the DM.
I am also looking for players that are interested in the tactical side of D&D combat. I enjoy building encounters that are challenging to overcome. My campaigns aren’t deadly in the sense that you should expect your character to die, but my campaigns also aren’t designed to hand-hold the party through bad choices. Poor strategic or tactical choices can have consequences, up to and including character death.
We are looking for at least one more woman for the group to hopefully achieve some semblance of gender balance, and that will likely wind up being a prerequisite to getting started. Being the lone woman in the group can be a bit isolating, and my wife would like to avoid that.
