This one forces you to pay attention to audio cues, visual feedback,

  • Lean into close-range damage—it’s extremely effective this week
  • Save ability usage for extremis & terminus
  • Let enemies fight each other when possible, but focus Chaos first, then clean up Tyranids, in particular during boss fight
  • Armour reinforcement is great for knowing when you get armour back without UI
  • Bonds of Brotherhood also good without UI
  • All classes are viable this week!

With Patch 13 bringing the Vortex Beast into Siege, I’ve been thinking about how this is actually going to play out.

The Hive Tyrant being added seems fine, but the Vortex Beast feels different because of how much space it controls—leaps, knockdowns, electric waves, etc.

In normal situations that’s manageable, but in Siege you’ve already got constant enemy pressure. I’m wondering if that combination could make fights feel more chaotic than challenging.

At the same time, Siege probably needs more chaos boss variety so maybe this is exactly what the mode needs.

I guess it depends on how it’s tuned—things like:

  • How many Vortex Beasts spawn at once
  • Whether Vortex Beast healing mechanics are adjusted
  • How it interacts with enemy waves

Curious what people think:

  • Is this a good addition to Siege?
  • Or is this going to cause more frustration than anything else?
