DELL 240W AC adapter charging and performance problems. (Read body)

Hello so I have a Precision 7730 laptop, it's top factory options from dell with an I9-8950HK, Nvidia Quadro P5200, and the 4K screen option. I am having problems however while using the laptop on the charger currently, I keep dropping charge percentage below 100% sometimes down to 95% and the laptop will randomly throttle the CPU down to 0.8 GHZ and GPU as well. I am on the latest bios and updates as well. I think my charger may be the culprit I did purchase it as new old stock in original packaging and I can confirm it's an official DELL charger. I notice it gets REALLY HOT while I'm playing games or doing heavy consistent work. It happens when the GPU is running near max usage for long periods of time. It throttles for about 5-10 seconds then goes back to normal and it will do this randomly. I believe the 240w charger may not be sufficient or working too hard to keep my system powered and is overheating and stopping charging as it's probably hitting a thermal protection switch. If I purchase the 330W AC adapter for the Alienware laptops same plug it looks, do you think it would solve my problem? Thanks for reading.
