I know Quality of Earnings reports are standard on the buy side, but I’ve been hearing more about sellers getting one done before a deal process begins. That way they can control the narrative and aren’t caught off guard when the buyer’s advisors start getting aggressive.
Is this becoming more common in PE-backed deals? And does having a sell-side QofE actually give sellers a meaningful advantage?
Correct me if I went wrong any where, I’m still learning.
