A maximalist fixed-gear in the spirit of the late great Sheldon Brown

I got into fixies during peak hipster ca. 2010, but always felt under-prepared with the minimalist meta. The more I added, the better I liked it, until I ended up with a city bike on 23c's that can nearly keep up with cars.

Samurai FCX24, WIP, getting close to done

Update to my previous post(s): https://www.reddit.com/r/FCX24/s/v2IhqvLgXV

Remix of Domi's SJ410 body, and digid's body mount posts (though there's honestly not much of the original left at this point).

I'd been trying to do a pure magnet mount, but it just wasn't sturdy enough. The body kept coming dislodged with even minor amounts of pressure, so I decided to go for a magnet/hinge hybrid mount. It's probably a little over-engineered (especially the magnetic catch at the rear), but that body isn't going anywhere.

I feel like I'm about done with the design phase, and it's just fine-tuning appearance from here. I'm thinking about trying to print it in ABS/ASA, then acetone vapor smoothing it to get rid of the layer lines...then paint, windows, and lights...timeline TBD.

So I was watching *Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie* with my daughter this morning and spotted some familiar 'thane. I thought it was funny that they sprung for such high-end wheels for a movie prop, but maybe someone on the crew already had them (or bought them hoping that they could take the prop home when filming is done 🤫).
