I had this song on an “Obscure Singles” playlist in my IPod— but my iPod has been dead for about ten years, and I’ve been looking for the song ever since. I couldn’t remember the name or the artist. But I always felt it could almost be a “lost” Beach Boys song.
I finally found it again today. It’s “What Ya Doin’ Down There” by The Newmans, from 1972.
What do you think? Does it sound Beach Boys-y to you guys, or is it just me?
I’m close to finishing (finally, I hope) my first book, a non-fiction book for McFarland Publishing about the Jack Benny radio program.
I have two ideas for a second book that I’d like to write. One would be a biography of a person up to a certain point in their life, while the other would be a full biography of someone’s entire life.
What are the best/your favorite books on how to research and write a biography?

I really dislike when there is an important government hearing and CNN puts it in a corner of the screen, while news anchors and guests talk over it, telling you what the people in the hearing are saying.
If you’d just let the hearing play, then we’d KNOW what they’re saying! Geez that’s annoying.
