No CNN reporting on Mitch McConnell brain dead?

how come? if you need confirmation just do the usual innuendo piece and all the private concerns he might be brain dead — and Republicans don't want a special election. Then if McConnells camp denies everything, just ask them to produce Mitch, even on video, waving, speaking. What was that movie either the dead guy being carted around? Weekend at Bernie’s?

President Trump called FIFA boss Gianni Infantino before stunning USA red card reversal using an obscure rule to suspend striker Folarin Balogun's automatic one-match ban for one year

>President Donald Trump’s role in FIFA’s stunning decision to allow striker Folarin Balogun to be eligible to play against Belgium on Monday in Seattle is under the microscope.

>A source familiar with the matter told CNN on Sunday that Trump spoke with FIFA President Gianni Infantino this week after Balogun’s red card and asked the FIFA leader to review the call. On Sunday afternoon, soccer’s governing body announced it was using an obscure rule to suspend Balogun’s automatic one-match ban for one year, allowing the striker to play against Belgium in the Round of 16.

>CNN’s Julia Benbrook has the details from the White House, and CNN’s Erica Hill discusses the controversy with her CNN This Morning panel and “We are the World (Cup)” author Roger Bennett.

Who produced CNN’s NYC fireworks show?

Poorly filmed, music choices and transitions horrible, and you show fireworks with the Empire State Building in the center blocking the view? Sorry, but disappointing.

Dr. Saju Matthew's Harmful Advice about GLP-1s

On the morning show (~6:30 am EDT), Matthew showed that he's clueless about obesity and GLP-1s (which stop "food noise" -- i.e., messages to eat). Matthew asserted that the Medicare program to give obese patients a lower-priced GLP-1 for 18 months will be a big help to those who "just can't lose the weight" (and would take the GLP-1 just for those 18 months). News flash: Most of the people that lose weight using GLP-1s, and then stop taking GLP-1s will gain the weight back -- because the "food noise" will restart once the GLP-1s are stopped. Just Google on "stop GLP-1 and gain weight back."* In other words, most people who start taking GLP-1s to lose weight will need to be on GLP-1s for the rest of their lives. Matthew's advice can be harmful, contrary to the medical ethics rule of "First, do no harm."

I find it unbelievable that CNN would have Dr. Matthew on repeatedly, given what I heard today.

Unpopular Opinion: Celebrity weddings have no place on news programs

Yeah, yeah, old man yells at clouds, just aggravating that every single thing I hear about these happenings is against my will.

This vicarious vanity obsession is pathetic enough on its own; masquerading it as news and shoveling it down like foie gras - as someone, somewhat relying on CNN for decades, I really hope the network fails at this point.

Paula Reid, CNN's Chief Legal Affairs Correspondent, Will Exit

Wow this stinks I really liked Paula and thought she did a really good job at CNN.

Guess I can't blame her though with a probable takeover of the network by right wingers. Sucks though.

Dana Bash Blames Dan Goldman's Loss on Antisemitism

While Dan Goldman himself has a more nuanced view of what has happened in Gaza, Dana Bash blamed Goldman's loss on antisemitism. Goldman will not brand what happened in Gaza as "genocide" and has received continued support from AIPAC, however. After Jake Tapper's interview segment with Goldman, the panel continued branding Goldman's loss as "antisemitic."
