CNN is putting its weeknight primetime anchors on Sunday nights ahead of the midterms. Starting tomorrow (Oct 11) at 8pm ET, Abby Phillip kicks off the rotation of special editions under the "Midterms 2026: Countdown to Election Night" banner. Laura Coates and Kaitlan Collins host in the following weeks, and the final Sunday before the election gets a doubleheader — Erin Burnett at 6pm, Anderson Cooper at 8pm. There's also an interactive element where viewers can engage with the anchor and panelists in real time.
Will anybody be watching tomorrow night?
I watch ICYMI and Pulse while I work. CNN often plays commercials that look like reporting, with an attractive young woman encouraging seniors to sign up for a program. There's often a Breaking News banner and clips of ecstatic seniors who are so thankful for the free money from the government.
It's deceptive. It's not free money from the government. It's a commercial.
Running these commercials reflects badly on CNN, it takes advantage of seniors, and the content communicates that they think seniors are chumps.
I know it's revenue, but it's inappropriate. Please stop.
Was Kaitlan even at the Trump Ohio Rally that he called her out for? I feel like she doesn’t often do weekend coverage/travel anymore unless it’s major breaking news. I’ve seen no footage of her actually being there but maybe I’m wrong. Just wondering if Trump is using every moment to bring her up no matter if she’s there or not.
I also have to wonder if there is a safety concern for her at this point. Having groups of people actively hating and booing her in person is very different than just hate comments on Twitter. Shes a journalist and will always have hate and some level of safety concerns at her level.
But He already unprompted mentioned her this week in the Times article and it seems like every other week he is making comments on social media or on TV whether she’s is in the room or not. More and more people are coming aware of her and more and more people are using her as a scapegoat for journalism. I have to wonder when it starts becoming a larger safety concern for her in her day to day life and what they can do about it.
I’ve noticed she’s barely in Washington lately and is more often than not doing her show from New York. It just seems strange to have the Chief WH correspondent primarily based in NY.
I have given most of the first episode a sincere effort but there are just too many ads. I've gotten spoiled with fewer ads on other services. Do you like the show overall?
