I just saw on The New York Times: “Claudine Longet, Entertainer who Shot Olympian Boyfriend, dies at 84.”
I read the headline and was like hey that’s from Gilmore Girls!

Lorelai: who the hell is that?
Rory: Claudine Longet
lorelai: the chick who shot the skier?
Rory: sure, why not.
Lorelai: wow. renaissance woman.

I always thought that whole exchange was kind of bananas and that the whole joke was that of COURSE it’s not “the chick who shot the skier.” She really did shoot the skier!!!
