The Disability Support Services Bill - another example of the hate this government has of disabled people.
This breakdown is someone else's, but basically it is being instigated as a result of two court cases where families wanted to be paid for the care they did for their children. They won, so the Govt have stepped in with this Bill to stop any other families being able to do the same. But they have added extra to it saying that family are responsible for caring, and that the Govt is only there to "contribute" towards care. They are taking away the rights of disabled people and their families, we will no longer be able to complain if treated unfairly. There is talk about working on a carers package, which will be means tested, so not everyone will be able to get paid to do the care. They have also said they can bring in new rules whenever they want to as well. Just some of the things involved
