rM2 vs rMPP vs rMPPure - Coming from Supernote Manta

Hi all!

I am currently a year or so into using a Supernote Manta and I love the product. Don't get me wrong, this tablet is great and I use it as my daily driver for all my work and meeting notes. For context, I used to be that guy with more than 5 notebooks each for a different topic or work group so having this kind of device has really helped streamline my workflow into one system.

My dilemma now is that -- I cannot seem to get myself to adapt and adjust to the Supernote's "hyper-organized" ecosystem. I initially used Headings the wrong way and it really messed up my TOC as it would recognize "highlighted words" I'd put headings on which were not really supposed to belong to the TOC or I did not see myself using the Stars or Keywords or Digest function at all. Call me a perfectionist but honestly, I haven't really found any good use for them as I prefer flipping through my notes as a good way to recap whatever I've previously written.

I decided on getting the Manta based on user reviews and I would like to know what the group thinks and feels on rM's note taking ecosystem as a whole.

  • I would still prefer to create separate folders and inside each folder, separate notebooks
  • I would like "Headings" to be highlighted but really, I just prefer the Headings to denote something important or a new Section of text within my notes to enter a different topic
  • Color isn't really something that's a deal-breaker for me. I can live without it. However, I do understand that the rMPP has better hardware than the rM2 which is discontinued.
  • Supernote's syncing is painful. I'm always on-the-go and I would like my documents and notes synced in an instant. Is this true for reMarkable?
  • I like that rM has a magnet on the side versus a pen loop like the Supernotes. Looks more professional and loop is often bothersome as my pen "hooks" onto different things in-transit. How's the magnet strength? Do the Markers break and would need replacement with just one drop?
  • What is the consensus on the rMPP vs rM2? I have read a lot of posts regarding ghosting issues and flickering screens. I was spoiled with the Manta in a sense that we had a "force refresh" gesture which would refresh the entire screen and it would clear out any and all ghosting from repositioning text or deleting words, etc.
  • I think I'm looking for something of better build quality. The Manta was paper thin and I loved it but it felt like I was using a toy sometimes...

I'm currently looking at available refurbished deals on the rM website and the price is "Okay" (still expensive) but definitely not in the market for something brand new.

...or should I just stick to my Manta and wait maybe 1-2 years for rM to release a new device with new technology which would succeed the PaperPro?

Would love to hear your thoughts! Sorry for the hodgepodge bullets. Just wrote what I thought this instant without thinking of the construction whatsoever :P
