Currently driving a 2017 LC200 GXR V6 (230,000 km).
Daily usage:
150 km And Around 4 hours idling.
Mostly highway, usually cruising between 100-150 km/h.
Fuel economy:
Daily use: 4.5-5 km/L
long trips 120 km/h: 6 km/L And 100 km/h: 6-7 km/L
Monthly running cost is around QAR 2,500-3,500 includes everything and that's making me reconsider things.
What I want next:
- Ventilated seats
- Better fuel economy
- Comfortable enough for long daily drives
- Massage seats would be a bonus
Budget is QAR 160k. I'll likely keep it for 3-5 years, and I'm okay with around 50% depreciation.
Considering two options:
- One car that does everything.
- Efficient daily driver (preferably PHEV) + older LC200/Patrol for around QAR 50k, plus QAR 20k for weekend mods.
I also looked at LC300 Twin Turbo GXR (2022-2024). Under 100k km examples are around QAR 200k-220k. After 3 years and another 120k km, depreciation would likely be around QAR 50k-60k.
Interestingly, that's similar to many new Chinese SUVs under QAR 180k with warranty.
The problem? LC ownership in Qatar spoils you. Road presence is unmatched. People move. Long drives are effortless.
I recently test drove a BYD Song PHEV. Great efficiency, but the difference was immediate. No road respect, and even a short drive felt tiring compared to the LC.
Anyone here moved from an LC200 to something more efficient? Any regrets? Is a two-car setup the smarter move?
