I thought I knew my girlfriend… until we talked about science
I’ve been dating a girl for almost a year, and honestly everything between us has been amazing. We love each other, travel together, spend a lot of time together, and I genuinely thought we understood each other deeply ,Today for the first time we ended up talking about science and space. What started as a normal conversation turned into one of the most shocking moments I’ve had in a relationship.
She told me she believes the Earth is flat, that planets don’t exist, that NASA is fake, that stars are just tiny lights, that the sky has a physical ceiling, that gravity isn’t real, and even that strange creatures live inside a wall at the North Pole. Basically, she believes modern science is a complete lie
What made it even harder for me is that I’m someone who’s deeply interested in science and space. I tried to explain things calmly, but nothing changed. She genuinely believes she’s right and that I’m the one who has been fooled.
To some people this might sound like a small or funny disagreement, but honestly it really affected the way I see the relationship. I almost wish we had never talked about it, because now I can’t unhear it.
