what to expect during / after removal?

I’m getting my mirena iud removed in 2 days, i’ve had it for 4 years (i was 20 wjen i got it) and i’m so nervous but i know it needs to go. It was fine at first for the first 6ish months then i stopped getting my period for years, around a year ago i gained 30 pounds in 3 months. insane. crazy thing is that I eat healthy and am very active. I also developed sm symptoms that I actually thought were pcos, aftwr extensive research I noticed other women were having the same problems with the common denominator being the mirena iud.

I made the choice to get it removed asap because my body just feels so alien now and it doesn’t feel like mine. it’s been messing with my mental state.

only thing is I got put under anesthesia when I got the iud due to personal reasons so I don’t know what to expect in terms of pain because I was not awake during insertion

anyone have any positive stories of life after removal?

I’m hoping after removal my skin will clear up again and the number on the scale will drop back to normal and I’ll feel more like myself again :P
