Help!!! My 11 month old has never been a good sleeper. She has never slept through the night. She is exclusively breast-fed and since about nine months I try not to go in to feed her before 1 AM. There was a period where she was waking only once a night to feed and I was OK with that. Usually it was around 3 AM. But the last 3 weeks she has been waking up at midnight or 1 AM as well as 3 AM 5 AM 6 AM. I’m going crazy. When she wakes up this many times I try to just feed her at the 1 AM and 6 AM wake ups. All of the other times if I go in there to try to console her if she gets even more upset so we have to let her cry it out. Sometimes it’s five minutes of crying before she puts herself back to sleep and sometimes it’s 20 minutes but it’s never full on crying— more like a whine and constantly laying down and standing up and laying down and standing up. What am I doing wrong? In the last 3 weeks she had a minor cold (or allergies? Just had a runny nose and no other symptoms) and she’s been struggling with constipation since she dropped a daytime breast feeding session.
Her schedule is pretty consistent. Wake up at 7 AM. Nap at 10 am for 1.5-2 hours. Second nap at 3 PM for 1.5-2 hours. Get ready for bed at 7:30 pm, breastfeed and asleep by 8 pm. So 3/3.5/3.5
I get so many remarks from my family and friends about how she should be sleeping through the night and I feel like such a failure. Will she ever sleep?!
