Still gotta do lashes, but at least I found a shade of purple light enough to not look like a bruise
Sort of a first, unfinished attempt at a purple variant. You only get one eye because the other is unbelievably scuffed and turned into a test dummy.
What are your thoughts on it? The pink alone looks very "crybaby" to me. But that's the point, right? I find that a combo of purples sort of gives that look, plus it looks a bit more sickly if you're going for that vibe. Just don't follow the pink tutorials too closely, you'll end up looking like you've gotten in a fight lol •́︿•̀
TLDR: Girl. Kept getting pushed to be a flight attendant by flight school people (weird, don't you want customers, at least?). Normal/possibly to be expected in hiring realm?
For very necessary context, I am female, and have found a place to get my licensing done that will probably not be obscenely sexist towards me.
When I first started looking for flight schools, particularly in my area, I actually paid a few visits to the sites of said schools. At one, located further towards a more conservative side of the state than the others I had checked out, I had a series of really weird interactions. The moment I mentioned wanting to become a pilot, instead of just being the child standing silently beside my parents who just so happened to drag along instead of the kid that obviously should've been my brother, I was immediately met with an:
"Are you sure you don't want to be a flight attendant instead?"
See, a regular "Are you sure? It's a lot of work and dedication" or something like that would've been, y'know... Objectively better? Yeah? "But this guy's just a little older, clearly assumed it was a son interested, maybe just hasn't seen many girls trying to take this path, especially in the area..." I tell myself because of something called "benefit of the doubt".
Just kidding! I then got asked several variants of: "Why don't you become a flight attendant instead?", delivered with several levels of condescending by all the staff I talked to. Every time I tried to explain that I'm just not intrested in customer service, having to deal with so many passengers up front, at a higher risk of being assaulted... In my opinion, pretty reasonable. To them, not so much; most likely why they kept "making sure".
I understand, that, as society develops and social norms change, the answers to my questions will change with them.
With all that being said, what's it like in hiring environments? Am I just kind of unlucky and looked in the wrong place? Is there a higher chance I'll be faced with those kinds of questions in interviews, if any at all? Should I (or will I need to) try to outperform my competition even more? Or I could also be the best diversity hire, like a queer person working at Chick-Fil-A.
Thank you for reading and/or answering, if you do.
I keep seeing "oh, honey wardrobe is a Taobao reseller, don't buy from them!!!!!!" all over my page. probably just ended up on the wrong side of Jirai. But is there actually a difference in prices between common brands on Honey Wardrobe and Taobao? Maybe I just haven't looked hard enough, idk ꒰ᐢ⸝⸝´ඉᯅඉ⸝⸝ᐢ꒱
And before anyone comes for me: I CAN'T ACCESS TAOBAO. I'M SORRY I'M SCREAMING, BUT I LIVE IN THE US AND IT'S VERY FITTING RIGHT NOW! 💜
