Is Made in China beginner friendly for sourcing?

I’m pretty new to sourcing products and still trying to figure out how people actually find reliable manufacturers without getting burned.

Lately I’ve been browsing suppliers on made in china to learn more about the process, but honestly it’s a bit overwhelming when you see so many suppliers offering almost the same thing.

For those who’ve used them before, how do you usually verify a supplier before sending any payment? Are there specific red flags you watch out for when asking for samples or negotiating?

Would really appreciate advice from people with actual experience because I’m trying to avoid beginner mistakes.

I’m planning to make some custom acrylic keychains and I’m trying to decide between the regular clear ones and those holographic/rainbow styles.

The clear ones look simple and clean, but the rainbow effect ones look more eye catching depending on the angle. I just can’t tell which one actually looks better in real life or holds up longer.

If anyone here has experience with either, which one would you go for?
