I just saw an advertisement for heat-pump water heater (HPWH). Yes, I understand things like SEER, EER, HSPF, but where does it get the heat? If I have a HPWH in my house, won't that make my heating system expend more energy to keep the house warm (or does the condenser go outside like my A/C)?

Note: I realize that's a benefit in the summer time when my A/C is trying to keep my house cool.

They say that they are running shuttles from Broadway to Braintree, but they don't say what the Ashmont branch is doing. If the Ashmont branch is running normally, why not run all trains to Ashmont and run the shuttle from JFK to Quincy.

I wanted to get to Government Center on Sunday, April 26th. Normally, I take the D in from Waban. With all the bustitution, I know the MBTA is going to do a half-assed job so I drive to Alewife instead.

Between Copley and GovCen, only the E trains are running. Are they running extra trains because there are no B,C,or D? No, it's just the regular E schedule every 10-15 minutes. Are they running extra trains because the Bruins have a game scheduled? NO. After waiting 12 minutes a Park for a train to GovCen, a one-car train is packed and only about half the patrons get on. So I have to wait for the next train.

Later, when I want to go home, at GovCen, the next E train is 12 minutes away. I kiss my entry fare goodbye and walk to Park Street in 8 minutes and pay another fare.

It's as if the MBTA just doesn't care.
