Which certification trifecta do you recommend? Career goal is IAM Engineer with the possibility to move into a Cloud Security role.

First combination is AZ-104 to SC-300 to SC-500. This combination is specific to Azure (Microsoft). This is the environment most of my experience is in. I am extremely familiar with endpoint management, endpoint security and identity security within Microsoft’s ecosystem.

Second combination is SSCP to CISSP to CCSP. This is a vendor neutral path but it should still help me get into IAM and cloud security down the line. I have the experience to become CISSP if I can pass the exam. I do lack knowledge in some domains but nothing some studying cannot help with. Only issue I see with this combination is that it’s too neutral. Most employers want vendor specific knowledge and certifications. But these certs should be able to land me interviews. I just have to prove myself during the interview.

Third combination is Okta specific. I forget the certifications but it’s a Professional one, an Administrator one then Consultant. I do have some experience with Okta but not as much as I do with AD and Entra ID. This combination is here because Okta tends to be the go to IAM solution. The only issue with this track is that it keeps me in IAM. I probably wouldn’t be able to touch much of the ecosystem I’m working in to get hands on experience with cloud security. The Azure track and ISC2 stack may give me the ability to touch outside IAM.

Yes, I have IT and security experience. No, I have not held a security title. I’m not getting interviews and was told my resume is decent. I know the market is hard so I’m hoping certifications can help me out. I’m basically looking for the trifecta that provides the highest ROI.

Is Memories of Ice better than Deadhouse Gates?

I’m finishing up Deadhouse Gates and will be starting Memories of Ice soon. I love the world that the author has built so far between GoTM and DG but I’m going to be honest and say that I did not enjoy DG as much as I enjoyed GoTM. And it’s not because of anything the author did. I just don’t like a lot of the characters in DG like I did in GoTM. Apparently, MoI does bring back my favorite characters thus far. Be honest with me, am I in for a good read?

Does anyone know the next event to get a free exam vouchers? I’m specifically interested in AZ-900 or SC-900 to get my feet wet.

Occasionally, Microsoft will have events where if you register for a lesson and attend or do MS Learn courses and finish, you get a free voucher associated with whatever you signed up for. I am curious when the next event is. My goal is to take a few exams in the near future but I want to get used to Microsoft’s exam style before I invest with my own money. Getting a voucher for AZ-900 or SC-900 would help with learning MS’s exam style so I can go into the other exams with confidence.

John Savill is often considered the GOAT for AZ-104 certification training. But who is the GOAT for SC-300 certification training?

The title pretty much states what I’m looking for. I need recommendations for someone who teaches SC-300 as well as John Savill teaches AZ-104. I am also looking for practice questions as well. I’ve been using my premium Copilot account for practice questions thus far, but that account is provided to me by my employer. I need studying resources that available to me outside the organization.

CompTIA AutoOps+

I recently found out that CompTIA is coming out with a certification that is specific to DevOps. I believe the certification is called AutoOps+ or something similar. I do not currently work in DevOps but I am very interested in that type of work (specifically, DevSecOps). I’m extremely excited to see CompTIA jumping on this. I came here specifically to ask if others were interested in it, and to get ideas about what would be some good certifications to tackle before jumping into studying for this certification in the future.

If it helps to know my background, I have 10+ years of IT experience. I have done service desk, system administration, Intune engineering, M365 administration and desktop support/ field support. I currently hold no certifications or degree.

What kind of vehicle is needed to intercept the strongest known tornado, and would you be up to the task of intercepting said tornado in that vehicle?

Nothing much to add here. Just curious about what kind of vehicle would be needed to safely intercept the strongest known tornado. And if given the chance would you be the one to intercept it?
I, honestly, do not have the balls to do such a thing.

I have hundreds of books from OceanofPDF. I generally download them to my phone then upload them to a popular e-reader. For the last few times I’ve attempted this, I get a message stating it’ll be available to read in a few minutes, however, nothing shows up. I sync, reboot, and other troubleshooting methods I can think of but nothing. I’m wondering is this ability has been blocked via the popular e-reader. Anyone else having this rather annoying problem?
