I got offered a pretty sick NATO assignment, but there is a chance my wife will get denied command sponsorship due to EFMP. She went to rehab two years ago and has been on medication like antidepressants and anxiety meds since. I just learned I need to enroll her in EFMP for this. Now, I don't think this should count as specialty care, but apparently, the Army does. If I got my orders with just my kids being command-sponsored and then went out of pocket to get my wife to fly there, would that cause issues?

Yes, I know I would have to do the process of getting her a visa through the host country, so she could be there legally, I wouldn't have a problem with that. I just don't want to lose this assignment because of some unnecessary EFMP bs.
